The limonite was composed of both amorphous and crystalline oxides; the siderite was dense and crystalline. Principal impurities were siliceous, free silica as quartz sand, siliceous clay, and residual grains of the hydrous silicate, glauconite. Partial chemical analyses of the individual ores are given in table 1
